SLED has developed a South African Sign Language (SASL) dictionary that covers basic vocabulary including, but not limited to, food, places, household objects, people, emotions, questions and time. The book and accompanying DVD have been designed not only as a reference for SASL vocabulary, but also to give a sound introduction to the grammar of the language.
Multilingual pamphlets containing valuable information on SASL and the Deaf were created by the Western Cape's Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport's Language Services Unit.
This was done in an effort to assist the implementation of the Western Cape Language Policy.
There is cricket on this weekend and as such, there will be no Dtv on Sunday 17 October. Regular programming will resume after that so check your TV Guide for details!
Every year, Dtv hosts the Zwakala Drama & Poetry Competition.
Our guest judges watch each performance and pick the top 3 entries from each category to perform again at the final gala evening.
This year, the gala evening promises to be a glamorous and fun-filled event.
‘Uplifting Mind and Body’ is the theme for the sixteenth Cape Town International Kite Festival, which is happening on 23 and 24 October 2010 in Muizenberg and is proudly hosted by Cape Mental Health.
